8. WrestleMania XXIX - Triple H Beats Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar's dominant WWE return was hampered by an immediate loss to John Cena, but given that there were extenuating circumstances regarding Brock's contract situation - and that the match with Cena was so damn good - most people are willing to overlook the loss.

WWE seemed to fully commit to a Brock Lesnar push at SummerSlam 2012, when 'The Beast' made Triple H submit to a key lock. As WrestleMania XXIX drew near and Lesnar assaulted Vince McMahon, fans began to suspect that a rematch was in the works. Indeed, the bout was signed, with HHH putting his career on the line. Skeptical fans feared that Triple H wanted his win back, but surely, 'The Game' would do what was best for business, right?

Nope. The two had a sluggish back and forth encounter that shattered Brock's mystique as a special attraction and saw HHH weather the former UFC Heavyweight Champion's best attacks. The bout also saw Brock knocked unconscious in the early goings, which was mentioned on TV at every opportunity. In the end, HHH pinned Brock following a Pedigree on the steel ring steps, doing his best to destroy Lesnar's aura of legitimacy.
