25 Most Important Wrestlers In NXT History
16. Tyler Breeze
Prince Pretty proved that there was still a place for characters in the serious world of NXT.
In 2013, Mike Dalton transformed himself into Tyler Breeze, an arrogant, flamboyant supermodel who took selfies on his way to the ring and was more concerned with looking good than winning fans.
Whilst this sounds goofy, Breeze made the character work by backing everything up in the ring. He quickly found himself in the main event scene, challenging for the NXT Championship on numerous occasions, including at the second ever TakeOver event, subtitled "Fatal 4-Way".
The Sultan of Selfies continued to get over with the Full Sail crowd and the wider wrestling audience. He also earned plenty of praise backstage as well, being selected as the opponent for Japanese wrestling legend, Jushin Thunder Liger, in his first and thus far only WWE appearance at the original TakeOver: Brooklyn event.
Breeze was the perfect example of how a WWE-style gimmick could get over with a more indie-oriented fanbase. A wrestling supermodel sounds like something straight out of the New Generation, but Breeze made it work and work at a main event level.
A gorgeous performance from a gorgeous man.
