25 Most Important Wrestlers In NXT History

23. Tye Dillinger

Despite being a member of the brand for four years, Tye Dillinger was never supposed to be a star.

After a brief stint in WWE's version of ECW in the 2000s, the man currently known as Shawn Spears on the indies re-emerged in NXT in 2013, forming a brief partnership with Jason Jordan.

After this team ended, Dillinger fell into obscurity before re-debuting under his most successful gimmick - The Perfect Ten.

Dillinger's instant likeability and charisma - combined with a great catchphrase - got him over in a big way to the point where he was more popular than the talent he was supposed to be putting over.

Dillinger was instrumental in breaking in the likes of Bobby Roode, Andrade "Cien" Almas, and Eric Young, acting as the gatekeeper to NXT during his time in Florida.

Meanwhile, The Perfect Ten gimmick continued to grow more and more popular, even making appearances on main roster shows. This led to Dillinger appearing in the 2017 Royal Rumble match at number, you guessed it, 11. Wait, that's not right...

The most unlikely of stars and a steady hand on the black and yellow brand, Tye Dillinger deserved way more than he got in WWE, but will always be a legend in the eyes of the NXT faithful.
