25 Worst Wrestling Moments Of 2021
4. The Fiend vs Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37
Opening the 2nd night of WrestleMania 37 in one of the worst ways possible, 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton embarked on one of the silliest matches in the history of The Grandaddy of Them All. After months of absolute buffoonery, this feud's final stand reached a new low that somehow ended in teleportation.
Fans began to worry from the very beginning of this encounter, as lights went out, and Alexa Bliss skipped towards a large music box. Twirling the lever on the side to reveal a comedically bad attempt at making 'Pop Goes The Weasel' sound spooky, this all felt as terrifying as a Hotel Transylvania movie. Bray Wyatt eventually emerged from the box to make his entrance.
After 5 minutes of brawling, Wyatt had Orton locked in to Sister Abigail before all four ring posts shot out flames, and Alexa Bliss reemerged, sat cross-legged on top of the box. As black goo ran down her face, echoing the stupid booking from Fastlane 2021, Wyatt let Orton go, Randy hit the RKO for the 3-count, and 'The Fiend' was defeated. He and Alexa then stared at each other for an uncomfortably long time, the lights went out, and both of them "disappeared into the ether". This calamitous end to a mountain-sized amount of nonsense across this feud led to Bray asking for his release from WWE.
