21. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair Exchange Belts
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are two of the most decorated and lauded women's wrestlers of all time. Two of the leading lights in WWE's women's revolution, Flair and Lynch have always been synonymous with one another as they rose the ranks together.
Going into the October 22nd, 2021 episode of SmackDown, Becky Lynch held the SmackDown Women's Championship, with Flair holding the main title for Raw. After a big shake-up in the WWE Draft, both champions were drafted to their opposing show. This led to a disastrous segment on SmackDown, in which Becky and Charlotte would exchange championships.
Allegedly, the idea for the exchange was for Becky to hold both titles, helping her establish herself as a heel, while the audience would sympathize with Flair for her upcoming babyface run. Charlotte saw this as making her look weak, and the ensuing title exchange descended into an awkward and comedic moment for the ages. Charlotte dropped the belt onto the floor as Becky went to take it from her, with Becky responding by throwing her title at Charlotte (again ending with the belt on the floor). The result was that both women looked petulant, and the biggest prizes that women can earn in WWE were disrespected in the worst way possible on live television.
