25 Worst Wrestling Moments Of 2022
6. Jeff Hardy Gets Another DUI
Jeff Hardy will always have the love of wrestling's global fanbase. He was such an integral part of the Attitude Era alongside Matt in The Hardy Boyz and went on to have a glittering career as a solo star. The fly in the ointment is that Jeff has always suffered with disciplinary issues away from the ring, and it's impossible to wonder what might have been possible without them.
The Hardy Boyz had a pretty great run on the indies and in the likes of TNA and ROH during their time away from WWE, and then had a satisfactory return to the company in 2017. Jeff joining Matt in AEW felt like a good fit when it happened in 2022, and Tony Khan's company has more emphasis on tag team wrestling than most promotions, plus The Hardys had a great rivalry with The Young Bucks on the independent circuit. Only, Jeff's demons would get the better of him almost immediately.
Jeff Hardy debuted in AEW on March 9th, but was involved in another DUI charge less than three months later on June 14th. He was immediately suspended without pay by Tony Khan and wouldn't feature on AEW television again until April 2023. It killed any momentum the Hardys had been hoping to build, and left the legendary Hardy Boyz considered as B-tier talent by AEW fans and creative alike.
