20. Powerhouse Hobbs Joins QTV

Throughout his time in AEW, it always seemed as if there was a superstar just waiting to burst out of Powerhouse Hobbs. As the main muscle in 'Team Taz', he even made Brian Cage look like the group's second most menacing monster! His run with the TNT Championship only lasted 42 days, but he won it in a brilliant 'Street Fight' with Wardlow and had 2 great Rampage matches with Penta and Rey Fenix during his short reign.

Searching for a clear direction, Hobbs was made a part of QT Marshall's QTV stable. Marshall was one of AEW's most loathed heels in its first few years, but this TMZ-impersonating stable was an instant dud. Featuring Aaron Solo, Marshall, Hobbs and the very new Harley Cameron, it wasn't that the idea itself was bad - it was more that it wasn't fleshed out into something suitably palatable for the wrestling world.

Quite why on earth creative thought Hobbs, a behemoth with a t-shirt design that said: "Big, black, and jacked", fit the mold for a stable that had office jobs is anybody's guess. It was a terrible fit for Powerhouse, and it took him a long time to get back on track as part of The Opps.
