3 Ups & 11 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 18)

Ups…

3. Finally, Some Focus

After eons of directionless meandering, RETRIBUTION finally got a modicum of focus on Monday night, when Mustafa Ali directed his anger at someone in particular.

Ali unloaded on Kofi Kingston, who is sidelined with a broken jaw, and pledged to make his partner Xavier Woods suffer in his absence. The reason for the promised anguish was Kofi taking Ali’s spot back in 2019, when Mustafa got injured and missed a major opportunity in his young career at Elimination Chamber. Kingston took his place, and KofiMania was born, leading him all the way to the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Mustafa said RETRIBUTION would make Woods suffer so Kofi could feel that pain, while hoping Kingston also misses the Royal Rumble and Mania itself this year. All told, this was the most direction RETRIBUTION has had since forming, so let’s give some credit here.
