3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Jan 7)

2. An Unexpected Cut

Austin Gunn
AEW

Last night's Dark was supposed to feature a tag bout pitting Proud and Powerful (who were substituted for a Shawn Spears/jobber tandem) against Bully and Austin Gunn. Recorded with the rest of the matches during last week's trip to Jacksonville, it came out of the tapings with more buzz than any other Dark contest, as live attendees hit social media to praise what sounds like a successful tag bout.

It was therefore deeply surprising to see the match cut from Dark without warning, leaving viewers expecting to see the father and son duo perplexed.

Perhaps there was a good reason for this, but, like... maybe warn us next time? Neither AEW's official Twitter account nor Dark's dedicated page offered an explanation or let fans know the match had been cut ahead of time. A simple tweet would have done the job, but alas.
