3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Jan 7)

1. Story-Driven Fun

Kip Sabian Christopher Daniels
AEW

A *** match unfolded in Dark's main event, as SoCal Uncensored bested The Hybrid 2 and Kip Sabian in a neat and tidy little encounter that was slightly enhanced by the Christopher Daniels story.

The announcers put Daniels' narrative over throughout and it manifested between the ropes as well, as the heels profited from the 'Fallen Angel's' hesitation before a hinted Arabian Press (the same move he botched against Pentagon). This didn't lead to the finish, but it was a sweet touch regardless.

A house show-style match captured for YouTube, it came to a close with Franke Kazarian getting his knees up to counter a Jack Evans Phoenix Splash. Evans was then cradled for a two-count before the bout devolved into a signature move shootout, concluding with Kazarian and Scorpio Sky hitting the SCU Later on Evans for the 1-2-3.

So Daniels isn't totally cooked... yet. We'll likely see this thread pulled further when he faces Sammy Guevara on Dynamite.
