3 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 6)

3. The Six-Woman Tag Match Delivers

There was only one match worthy of receiving pass marks last night, and that was the women’s six-person tag. Naomi, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte teamed against Tamina, Carmella, and Natalya, and while far from exceptional, it was a very solid opening bout. They fought for just over ten minutes, with Lana’s interference distracting Naomi, and allowing Tamina to pick up a significant victory over her former Team B.A.D. partner.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion taking another pinfall is problematic, but at least it happened in a way that sets up a new story. Tamina should gain a jolt of credibility from this too, while Becky and Charlotte also looked strong throughout, and the heels kept things engaging during their heat segment.

It’s a shame WWE can’t find a way to feature these performers in a less crowded way, as there’s limited scope for individuals to shine when they're all onscreen at the same time. The match was largely successful despite this, and while not necessarily something anyone will even remember in a couple of weeks, there was very little wrong with it.
