3 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 12)

2. One Step Back

In recent weeks, the rivalry that’s been bubbling between Tessa Blanchard and Hall of Famer Gail Kim has been superb to watch. It’s been so well booked that it’s impossible to nitpick. This week though, there was a slight disappointment.

With Gail sitting in on commentary for Tessa’s match against Madison Rayne, she prevented The Queen of the Carolinas from using a steel chair on Rayne, resulting in a victory for The Queen Bee. It’s not exactly the worst thing that could’ve happened but considering the level of hatred these two have for one another, you’d expect a bit more than just taking a chair out of arm’s reach, especially with their match just two weeks away.

It’s not something that will take away from the match in any way, shape, or form – it’d be stupid if it did to be honest. It just wasn’t the sort of thing you would imagine seeing two weeks away from a marquee match on a pay-per-view event.
