3 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 12)
2. A New Arrival
This week saw the in-ring debut of Impact’s newest tag team, The North, comprised of “All Ego” Ethan Page and “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander. They saw off enhancement talent El Reverso and Sheldon Jean in their first match as a team, using their old Loch Ness Lowdown double finish for the win.
It’s a refreshing image seeing Page actually doing something worthwhile inside an Impact ring. Aside from his participation in the Ultimate X Match at Homecoming, he’s not done too much since arriving in the company in the fall of 2018. When it was revealed that Josh Alexander would be coming to Impact, we could just hope that he’d be paired with Ethan, seeing as the duo have teamed on the independent circuit for quite some time,
Impact’s doubles division right now is stacked. When you break it down though, there’s plenty of space – The Lucha Bros and The LAX are battling, Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards aren’t sure what they’re even doing, and oVe are busy in the Sami Callihan/Rich Swann situation. Thus, The North fit right in, and having them beat enhancement talent as opposed to signed talents is a great move. More of this team please.
