3. We Need More Fire From Trick

Trick Williams might not be the main eventer WWE wants him to be. Let's talk about it.

Sami Zayn smoked him face to face in that opening promo exchange. The reigning WWE Champion talking about “electricity on his tongue” and having “survival skills” Trick lacks was more of a fiery babyface promo than the one Williams cut. When it was his turn to talk, Trick Willy's delivery was far too monotone and laid back.

He also does this thing where he kinda’ catchphrase delivers everything he says, and that cheapens it. If this was a test to see if fans would be sucked into the idea of Trick challenging Sami, then it failed. The constant ginger jokes need to beat it too - they’re not funny at this point.

Admittedly, this segment did lead to Williams vs. Johnny Gargano, but it didn’t shine a positive light on Trick’s prospects of moving up the card. He came across as less-than compared to Zayn when the whole purpose of putting them in the ring nose to nose is to elevate Williams.

This might sound harsh, but viewing Trick as the major player he's supposed to be has become a struggle. His promos lack necessary fire, his matches aren't really that great, and all he really has are some "WHOOP THAT TRICK" chants during his entrance. There's a lot more to be done before he's ready for the top table.

In fairness, patience is important and Trick could click eventually. Here's hoping he does, because his performance on SmackDown was so-so.
