6. Seth Rollins Gets Generic
Some reading will disagree wholeheartedly with this and that's fine. This is just one guy's opinion, after all, so here goes. Is anyone else really, really sick of the lengthy singalong entrances and that obnoxious laugh thing Seth Rollins does? It grates, and the entrance routine has become akin to a handy time-filler for WWE when they don't have a ton of material to work with.
Seth's speech on SmackDown was one of the most blatant ‘go out there and fill time for 10-15 minutes’ promos you’ll ever see. Rollins has felt like a bit of a third wheel sandwiched between CM Punk and Roman Reigns for a while, being honest. WWE has tried to change that by sprinkling in some stuff involving Paul Heyman owning Seth a favour, but this promo laid it bare that people don't care much about that, and didn’t really do Seth any favours overall.
Credit to the man for trying to get heated, but he was right up against it from minute one. After all, Rollins had literally nobody to bounce off of - he was a one man ranting machine, and it became clear there'd be no Roman, Punk or even Heyman the longer he talked. The absolute last thing WWE would want Seth to be is generic. Oops.
He needs a bit of a rethink post-WrestleMania once some fresh faces start showing up. It feels like Rollins could do with going full blown heel again and showing a little more menace. All the laughing and posturing has become tedious.
Again though, just one person's opinion.
