Sorry, it’s unclear from everything we’ve seen from the rapper, as he continues well past his sell-by date as Trick Williams’ corner man. He’s repeatedly gotten involved in Trick’s matches, wielding a kendo stick and hopping up on the apron. When they showed his training video on SmackDown, you’d be forgiven if you thought Yachty was the heel, goldbricking, preening for the camera, fanning himself with cash, and so on.

The result was a screwed-up dynamic heading into Sunday Night’s Main Event.

There, Yachty had to survive five minutes against Corbin to enable Trick to challenge for the United States Championship. What ensued was a slow-moving, meandering mess that relied on Yachty’s entourage to help pad out the first four minutes, until Baron took them out and laid Yachty out with two End of Days.

Rather than pinning him with about 55 seconds remaining, Corbin decided to take an eternity and retrieve a table, then set Yachty on the top rope with 20 seconds left. One low blow later, and the rapper had survived.

Yes, we get it - heels are supposed to be dupes at times and lose themselves in the moment - but this was beyond ridiculous. As celebrity matches go, this was about four minutes too long and ranked somewhere between Snooki and Kevin Federline.
