5. Apollo Crews Is Still Lacking Depth

The match between Apollo Crews and AJ Styles was fine for the latter performer, it was another momentum-building win for AJ heading into Backlash. There, Styles will meet Dean Ambrose for the WWE Title. Sadly, it did little to aid the cause of Crews, who has been reduced to spelling his own name.

That's not a good sign, Apollo's character is currently paper thin. Inside the ring, he's athletic and obviously more than capable, but he just lacks any depth right now. WWE's creative team surely have to address this sooner rather than later, it's making Crews come across as mediocre.

Even his verbal interaction with Styles on SmackDown felt like it lacked vibrance. Whereas his opponent was full of charisma and character, Apollo just came across as someone with nothing to say. If WWE expect guys like Crews to get over, they have to pay more attention to the little things.
