3 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Aug 30)
3. The Miz Leaves The WWE Intercontinental Title On The Ramp

Simply put, that promo The Miz cut to open SmackDown Live was wonderful. Not only did it follow on from his altercation with Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack last week, but it also felt crammed full of passion. Better yet, Miz was able to put over the WWE Intercontinental Title, acknowledging that the belt has occasionally fallen by the wayside over the years.
After being confronted by Dolph Ziggler, one little nuance threatened to spoil the entire segment. It didn't, thankfully, but there was a threat there. Following his brilliant vocal performance about why he should be respected as champion and how the Intercontinental Title was the most important belt on SmackDown, Miz then left the title laying on the entrance ramp.
Stopped by Maryse, The Miz stormed off backstage but didn't take the physical gold with him. This must be considered a slight oversight, especially after the promo leading into Miz's eventual cowardice. He really should have grabbed that title.
