3 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 9)

Congrats to Rusev for finding shoes to wear.

This week's Smackdown followed up Raw by reminding us that Seth Rollins was alone thanks to Brock Lesnar taking out J&J Security while Kane was on vacation in Hawaii. This comes a few weeks after they drove home the point that The Authority was reunited again. Watching WWE programming of late is very frustrating because they really don't advance the storylines as much as they should. One week Rollins is the overconfident heel champ that thinks he's unbeatable because of his allies. The next week he's brought back down to Earth when he realizes he has no help. It's like running around in a circle with no end in sight. It's a main event storyline that has been going on since the day after Rollins won the WWE Title. Remember when he ran from Lesnar to avoid a beating on Raw after WrestleMania? He ran away this week too. It's like nothing that happened in the past three months really mattered because it's back to square one. Smackdown was below average this week. It's really hard to get excited about anything on this show because creatively it just feels like WWE is mailing it in week after week. Here are the matches that took place on this week's show. Dean Ambrose defeated Bo Dallas by pinfall. Rusev defeated Fandango by submission. Roman Reigns defeated Big Show by disqualification when Bray Wyatt interfered. Titus O'Neil defeated Big E by pinfall. Brie Bella & Alicia Fox defeated Naomi & Tamina by pinfall. Ryback defeated Seth Rollins by countout. Normally it's four ups and four downs in this space every week, but this week it's three ups with five downs.
