Chris Benoit enjoyed great success in his early years at WrestleMania, winning the Intercontinental Championship at his first Mania (2000) and capturing the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of XX. He also defended his United States Championship at WrestleMania XXIII. Even in defeat, Benoit had a spectacular match with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX, and he also participated in the first Money in the Bank ladder match at XXI in 2005.
