23. Scott Steiner Scorches The Earth Underneath His Feet

Scott Steiner’s reputation as a no-nonsense, unhinged powerhouse was well-established long before he swapped his mullet for a bleached buzz cut and Rick Steiner for his “freaks.” But it wasn’t until his 'Big Poppa Pump' reinvention in 1998 that fans got to see the full extent of his unfiltered rage. And by 2000, WCW was in complete free fall, but Steiner was thriving in the midst of a major push as part of yet another New World Order reboot. His fury reached new heights on the February 7th episode of Monday Nitro, when he turned his wrath on Ric Flair in a verbal annihilation that took the entire company down with the 'Nature Boy'.

Unleashing a blistering tirade, Steiner blurred the lines between storyline and reality. He mocked Flair as “a 53-year-old man with more loose skin than a Shar Pei puppy” and then took aim at his extravagant lifestyle, suggesting that “instead of spending money on limousines and lear jets, you should have fixed your crooked yellow teeth.”

He wasn’t done. In a moment of stunning candour, Steiner outright buried WCW on their own live broadcast. He ranted about fans switching over to watch Steve Austin instead of enduring more Flair segments, then delivered the fatal blow, calling the 16-time World Champion an ass-kissing, butt-sucking b*stard who “belonged in WCW, because WCW sucks.”

Amazingly, despite verbally torching the company on air, Steiner faced zero consequences for his outburst.
