Booker T didn’t get most of the blame for his match vs. Buff Bagwell on Raw in July 2001, but there would’ve been a lot of doubters behind the curtain in the WWF. Knives would’ve been out after a few more bad performances, put it that way. The good news is that one match saved the day.

Book’s match vs. The Rock at SummerSlam was his coming out party. It headlined the show (even above Austin vs. Angle for the WWF Title) and proved the multi-time WCW World Champ belonged on his new patch. Hanging with a major name like Rocky established Booker as somebody who was here to stay.

He was one of the few WCW main-eventers who thrived after a challenging start.
