23. ’Stone Cold’ Shouldn’t Have Dropped The Belt

At KOTR 1998, relative newcomer Kane won a tired 'First Blood' battle vs. Steve Austin to win his first WWF Title. That, dear readers, was a massive mistake. Sure, Austin regained the thing on Raw 24 hours later, but it’s mad that McMahon thought ending Austin’s first WWF Title run after just a few months was the way to go.

The whole headliner scenario in June was clumsy.

Kane was almost totally covered from head to toe, so spotting blood would've been a challenge anyway. Plus, 'Stone Cold' was still on fire as champ and definitely didn't need any interruptions. He'd literally just won the belt from Shawn Michaels in March!
