33 Forgotten Moments In The Undertaker's WWE Career

21. Armageddon Rules Match With Terry Gordy

The Executioner was played by Terry Gordy, and the Survivor Series run-in resulted in an 'Armageddon Rules' match at December 96's In Your House 12: It's Time. What's notable is that Gordy was one of wrestling's great big men, but he never really got the push he deserved in the World Wrestling Federation. His brief run as The Executioner was just too gimmicky. In any other circumstances, Taker versus Gordy should have been a fantastic clash. Two of the best big men workers who ever existed in that era. Gordy's work in The Fabulous Freebirds and Japan is legendary. But at In Your House 12, it was short work for The Undertaker. The 'Armageddon Rules' stipulated that to win, the opponent must be down for a ten count after being pinned or submitted. Taker tombstoned and pinned Gordy, who then couldn't get up before the ref's ten count. Gordy was gone from the company not long afterwards.
