"Jabroni" Officially Added To The English Dictionary

Here's how the dictionary defines The Rock's biggest buzzword...

Wrestling fans rejoice: one of the artform's greatest insults has just been legitimised by Dictionary.com.

The website confirmed that the word made famous by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been added to the database as part of its biggest update ever, joining roughly 650 other new words. Here's how they define it:-

"jabroni – noun

Slang. a stupid, foolish, or contemptible person; loser: She always has a comeback to own the trolls and jabronis on Twitter. Shut your mouth, you dumb jabroni!

Also called en·hance·ment tal·ent, job·ber. Professional Wrestling. a wrestler whose purpose is to lose matches against headlining wrestlers in order to build up the status and fame of the headliners: The man is a legend in the ring—he eats jabronis for breakfast."

Made popular by The Rock decades ago, "jabroni" will be part of the pro-wrestling lexicon forever, no matter how far away from the squared circle its most famous user may be. It should be noted, however, that Rocky did not come up with "jabroni." That honour goes to The Iron Sheik, whom Johnson paid tribute to last night:-

The Rock has previously claimed to have heard Sheik constantly saying the word backstage, inspiring him to go public with it. It quickly took off as one of the Attitude Era's most iconic catchphrases.
