4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 17)

1. One Multi-Man Too Many

Two multi-man tags on the one 60-minute program did nothing for either bout.

The opener perhaps gets a pass because it kicked off the show, but that 10-man main event was a little bit messy. All involved tried to make it different from the first, so they worked more of a brawling style, but it was hard to keep track of the legal man; it even looked like the wrestlers themselves forgot who was legal a few times.

Less is more, AEW. You really don't need to stick so many wrestlers out there on an hour-long broadcast. Rampage is at its best when the booking focuses on just a few acts/feuds and gives them room to breathe. That wasn't always the case on Friday night.

20 different workers were (legally) involved in just three matches this week, and that doesn't take into consideration all the hangers-on/managers etc at ringside, or those working promos elsewhere. It's too much, and it dilutes the importance of every story.
