4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 29 - Results & Review)

3. This Was Solid

Eddie Kingston Rocky Romero
AEW

Anyone who knows this writer also knows he isn't too keen on AEW continually repping other companies or their belts on TV. Despite that regular moan, it'd be churlish to claim that Kingston vs. Rocky Romero was anything other than good. It was a real nice lead-in win for Eddie ahead of WrestleDream.

Katsuyori Shibata even walked out to shake hands and strike as 'vs. screen' pose for the cameras.

Eddie and Rocky refused to rush. They kept spots minimal, and instead focused on hitting hard and keeping things relatively simple. That, dear readers, only made the bout a refreshing watch. The earlier Trios Title showing was a rush of spots, so it was sweet to see something slower-paced.

This bout won't win any 'Match Of The Year' awards, or anything, but it served its purpose on this week's Rampage. That's something both men can be proud of, and they were visibly having the best time just thumping one another.
