4 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 28)
2. Dangerous Expectations

Given the volume of quality matches NXT has been pumping out as of late, Tyler Bate vs. Velveteen Dream was a minor disappointment. Both have been consistently excellent since the turn of year, and when it was first announced, this clash looked like another barn-burner.
It wasn't. We got a good TV match, but not a great one. Perhaps it was a victim of heightened expectations in the wake of NXT's recent forms, as us viewers have been spoiled for choice lately, but the fact that it wasn't on par with Bate vs. Strong or Dream vs. Gargano is a supplemental 'Down.'
Don't get it twisted, though: the match was still better than at least 75% of the content that makes it onto WWE television on a weekly basis. Dream and Bate clearly have good chemistry, and if given time to worker a longer program, there's every chance they'd deliver a better clash. They're two of WWE's brightest young prospects. Dream won last night, but his and Tyler's paths will almost certainly cross again in the near future, and when they do, there's little doubt they'll find the heat that was sadly missing from last night's opener.
