4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 20 - Results & Review)

3. Don’t Hesitate!

Got to be honest - this guy wasn't expecting to see Jon Moxley kick off Rampage.

Mox's promo was a refreshing way to kick the show off. Sure, it only happened because AEW tag-teamed Rampage with Collision, but it was still a breath of fresh air. Jon talked about defending his IWGP Title against Powerhouse Hobbs on Wednesday's Dynamite, and the BCC man dispensed with his usual 'too cool for school' style.

There's something about Japanese wrestling belts that bring out in the best in Moxley. He was a red hot wrestling machine when he left WWE years ago and reinvented himself there, and it looks like the same thing could happen again now he has New Japan's top prize. Wouldn't that be lovely?

This speech wasn't Moxley's best ever, but he's so much better when he drops the laid back comedy stuff to get serious. Of course, the Blackpool Combat Club also helps there. That group hinges on solid, no nonsense wrasslin', which is something Jon does really well.
