4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 27)

1. Selling The Knee

Bryan Danielson Matt Sydal

This, this is (partly) why Danielson is so special.

He sold an innocuous knee injury from last week's show throughout the match with Sydal. Bryan didn't go too far with it, and only grabbed his kneecap a few times, but it was just enough to link back to something that happened previously. Ladies and gents, behold a master at work.

Most workers would've completely forgotten about that, but not Danielson. This actually added another layer to his ground-based attacks too; unable to keep pace with Sydal's flying ways, Bry had to try and punish him with agonising submission holds.

That's something he's been doing a lot of since the Blackpool Combat Club formed, but the knee pain added some context to it on this occasion. Little details matter to pro wrestling fans, and that's something Danielson has always understood.

What a pro.
