4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 20)

3. So, Who’s Getting The Push?

50/50 writing rarely works, but it's a WWE go to. Recapping this feud between The Street Profits and Alpha Academy is likely to give one a headache. Here's a run down: Otis smashed through Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, injuring both in the process. Then, last week, The Profits scored a tag win to seemingly become Tag Title contenders.

Scratch that.

Otis wrecked Ford on Friday, and it's almost like last week's tag has been scratched from the record books. Meanwhile, poor Chad Gable is coming across as someone who can't get anything done without Otis there to bash, stomp and splash his way through rivals. Basically, nobody is really getting ahead here.

This one-on-one match felt totally unnecessary after The Profits emerged victorious in the tag. Seeing Montez bump around in "boxing shorts" before taking the fall was a step backwards for he and Dawkins rather than a major leap for Alpha Academy.
