4 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 (Results & Review)

1. Women Steal The Show

WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 Iyo Sky Stephanie Vaquer
WWE

The moment WWE announced the Women’s World Championship match between Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky, everyone knew this had “show-stealer” potential.

Saturday, Iyo and Stephanie delivered on that potential.

The two women had an incredibly impactful match that started out with some mat-based grappling that grew in intensity until it reached a fever pitch in the waning moments. Both women showed respect to the other in the early stages, but they really turned things up when Iyo hit a springboard dropkick and suicide dive, only for Vaquer to come right back with a knee-drop on the apron and two springboard crossbodies – one to the floor and one in the ring. They traded German suplexes and slugged it out before going for their finishers.

Vaquer stepped up the violence with two vicious Dragonscrew Leg Whips, while Iyo managed to gut out a Bullet Train Attack. Her moonsault hit knees, though, but Sky kicked out of a Devil’s Kiss and SVB. Iyo dropped the kneepads to go for two more Bullet Trains, only to miss another moonsault and fall to a Vaquer Spiral Tap.

Sky and Vaquer have insane chemistry, and finally giving the two of them a clean finish (rather than having Asuka get involved to mar the decision) was a great choice in hindsight. Iyo’s selling in the closing moments was perfect, as was the mutual respect shown afterward, with Sky anointing Vaquer by handing her the title.

Great, great match that’s worth checking out if you missed it.
