4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (19 Dec - Results & Review)

1. Non-Finish For A Non-Event

The Wyatt Sicks MFTs

One of Hunter's favourite tropes is the humble pull apart brawl as shows go off the air. That's been a staple of pro wrestling since forever, but 'The Game' is super fond of it. What was that about things feeling lazy?

Friday's Wyatt Sicks vs. MFTs main event was frankly dull. JC Mateo and Tonga Loa didn’t mesh the same way Mateo and Tama Tonga do as a team, and the champs are just meh generally. Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis, along with their stablemates, have sucked the energy out of SmackDown’s tag-team division in 2025. Personally, this guy has zero desire to see more of this. Got to be blunt there.

It's so beyond tedious that The Sicks spout their supernatural, cryptic riddles that go nowhere. Worse, Gacy and Lumis aren't even having great matches to compensate for the humdrum feel to their gimmicks. This was a chance to make Solo Sikoa’s MFT crew look dominant and get the belts off The Wyatts. Instead, Triple H went with the path of least resistance and kept a lifeless story going for no good reason.

If they think that building towards Solo vs. Uncle Howdy is going to be some ultra hot scenario, then they're wrong. Getting the belts off Gacy and Lumis in favour of a title run for JC and Tama (not Tonga Loa) would be the best decision imaginable for the SmackDown doubles division heading into the new year.

Surely The Sicks can't continue sapping everybody's enthusiasm for the division in 2026?!
