4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (20 Sept - Results & Review)

Downs...

5. Didn’t We Just Wrap This Up?

Andrade Carmelo Hayes
WWE

This is rather sudden.

The plus side to WWE booking Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes in yet another match is that everyone knows they'll produce another scorcher next week. The downside? Their banging 'Best Of 5' series is already rendered fairly pointless - it looks like we'll be getting a triple threat with these two and LA Knight at Bad Blood.

So, what was the point in booking that competitive series?! Sure, it got 'El Idolo' a United States Title shot on this week's TV, but now he just waltzes into another one because he and Hayes can't see eye to eye? That doesn't make much sense, and neither does Melo being back in the title conversation after losing.

It's a dangerous game to present a 'Best Of 5' as meaningful then trample all over it the very next week. Yes, WWE's product moves quickly, but some things need room to breathe. Trips ignored that here, presumably because he wants. more of Andrade vs. Hayes ASAP.
