4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (6 June - Results & Review)
2. Tiffany Stratton Says A Whole Load Of Nothing
Whilst it's understandable that wrestlers won't be featured in high positions every single time WWE produces telly, something else has to be said: The way some of them cycle in and out of relevancy is jarring. It's especially annoying when matches are taking places which affect their potential standing on the roster, or when the company goes halfway in on making them part of things.
Tiffany Stratton, like LA Knight, had sod all to say of note during her in-ring promo.
She yakked on about the importance of Money In The Bank to her own career, then scarpered once Rhea Ripley got in her face and others started making their entrances for a coming six-woman tag. Huh? What? Stratton didn't want to stick around and watch some of her possible title challengers do their thing so she could scout their strengths and weaknesses? Why was she even out there in the first place then?!
Tiff was shoehorned into the show big time here. It was a total waste to bring her out, tease a match vs. Rhea, then quietly remove Stratton from the scene just in time for the MITB-inspired tag. Surely it would've been a better idea to have Tiffany sit in on guest commentary with Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett so she could, y'know, add narrative weight to some would-be match-ups against Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia and others.
Too many key characters exist right now to perform entrance routines and spew a catchphrase before retreating. It isn't nearly enough for weekly episodic television. Sorry, but it isn't.
