4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 1)

Ups...

4. Making The Best Of A Bad Situation

The Usos Street Profits

Man, that "Ask Them Anything" skit between The Usos and Street Profits could've been a train wreck. WWE goes bad comedy with these things far too much, so it's a credit to both teams that they were able to sidestep that in favour of more standard back-and-forth.

"Standard back-and-forth" is a win considering the alternative.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are more prone to comedic touches than Jimmy and Jey, but the challengers kept that in check here. By doing so, they came out looking like more of a threat to the Undisputed Tag Champs than they would've had they echoed New Day's usual jokey style.

Unlike the tame Rousey vs. Nattie build and the flat out boring MITB stuff, this segment worked well as a last push to prep fans for the coming match on Saturday. It was honestly as good as anyone could've hoped for when they sat down to pen the material.
