4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Nov 6)

Ups...

4. Torn Between Love & Loyalty

Whilst it was pretty lame that WWE shifted the entire Seth Rollins/Murphy/Mysterio family angle over from Raw to SmackDown in the 2020 Draft, there is a sneaky upside. Murphy, in particular, is finally getting to show some more personality, and the angle is doing a fine job of telling a branching story.

This week, Murph appeared with Aalyah to accidentally cost Rey his match with 'King' Corbin. Later, Murphy helped Rollins beat Otis and then confirmed he was Seth's "Disciple" again. After all that, he promised Aalyah that he was doing the right thing long-term.

"Long-term" is the important bit here.

Real people go back on their word or stumble when trying to do the right thing occasionally. That's what's happening with Murphy - he comes across like a human being who's torn between blossoming love for Aalyah and loyalty towards his old leader.
