4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 4)

2. The Wrong Winner

Dustin Rhodes Nick Comoroto
AEW

AEW's new Bruiser Brody-esque beast Nick Comoroto has untapped potential. That potential won't be met if he's jobbing to Dustin Rhodes in random-ass gimmick matches that reek of apathy from AEW's booking committee. Again, apologies if that sounds unduly harsh, but this was skippable stuff.

Both men worked hard, no doubt. That graft was wasted when AEW picked the wrong winner (presumably 'cause they wanted to send fans home happy with a babyface win) and because neither guy was presented as somebody fans should take all that seriously in the build up.

JR didn't seem too keen on this one anyway. His commentary was full of banter about headlocks over violence, and that created a disconnect for the viewer. Every complaint boils down to one thing though: Comoroto could've done with a victory more than Dustin.

Oh well.
