5. Usos Got Tag Team Ring Rust

WWE Raw Jimmy Uso Jey Uso The Usos

The first tag team match pairing Jimmy and Jey Uso since July 2023 should have been a big deal. The twins were at odds for nearly a year, feuded at WrestleMania, and finally reunited last fall for WarGames.

Rather than some big event with Jimmy bailing out his brother in a dire situation, he sidled up next to Jey to face… A-Town Down Under. No fanfare, no suspense, no drama. There wasn’t even a delayed entrance for Jey’s mystery tag partner. Instead, Jimmy just appeared in the aisle during Jey’s entrance and the two danced down to ringside.

And then the match… woof. The brothers hit a couple of tandem spots, but the crispness and speed that defined their matches during their near-two-year reign as tag champs were gone here, replaced with a plodding that felt like they were stuck in second gear for much of the match.

Perhaps that’s due to their opponents, but if that’s the case, then blame has to be laid at the feet of the bookers. You’re less than four weeks out from WrestleMania and you send a world title challenger out there to put on a dull, heatless match like that? No, you make sure the Usos are going to look electric

It’s hard to get excited when WWE burns a first-time-in-nearly-two-years reunion in a meaningless tag that underperforms. They would have done better to have had Otis be the mystery partner and have both faces dance and hit their signatures to a pop.
