4. Austin Theory’s Worst Week Ever

The Vision as a loser stable of losers who lose has been a running gag among viewers for quite some time now, but no one expected in this post-Vince era that WWE would just say the silent part out loud.
However, there was Paul Heyman sending a very clear signal Monday night that he doesn’t rate The Vision at all. Heyman was selling Raw GM Adam Pearce on the Brock Lesnar/Oba Femi match at SummerSlam when Austin Theory walked up, surprised to see Paul E. back on his feet after that Bron Breakker spear through the barricade a few weeks back. But when Theory tried to engage Heyman and get him to join him at ringside, the Wise Man basically scoffed and walked off, leaving Austin to stew.
Later, the last member of The Vision standing walked out to confront Joe Hendry, which set up an impromptu match (though Theory did say earlier that he had a match)… which Austin promptly lost. The match itself was nothing special and was forgotten seconds after it ended.
Even worse for Theory, he confronted Maxxine Dupri backstage later for daring to talk to Chad Gable, suggesting that they should end whatever it is that they have, which is a relationship that has been pure speculation and conjecture. But now it might be over, clearly upsetting all the fans who have been rooting for those crazy kids to get together.
Saddling a loser like Theory with a loser gimmick is a loser of an idea, and it certainly doesn’t help The Vision (or the tag division) to basically diss the former champs and mock their stable, only to grant them a title rematch next week. What odd booking.
