4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (3 July - Review)

2. ‘Banquet Of Consequences’

This column tries to avoid being overly critical of those short vignettes, unless they’re particularly deserving, and well, we’ve got one.

Bronson Reed has been well-protected on the main roster thus far, but he’s had minimal character development. Thankfully, his talent has garnered him some nice reactions from fans, particularly when doing his Tsunami splash.

But Monday, Reed gave a short promo via video where he recited a lot of lines prepared for him, but they said literally nothing about him. It was painful, including referring to how people have their own “banquet of consequences,” a phrase that makes no sense whatsoever. He referred to himself as “inescapable,” which also didn’t really fit the context of the vignette.

It’s nice they gave him a package to get some shine, but these failed soap writers just screwed the pooch trying to gussy up monologues when all was needed was a very simple message about inflicting pain, making money and winning championships.
