4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (3 July - Review)

UPS…

4. Booking MITB Winner Strong

The Judgment Day
WWE.com

One of WWE’s maddening booking tropes has been to anoint someone as the Money in the Bank winner, then beat them a bunch because they can get all their heat back when they cash in the briefcase to win a world title.

Thankfully, WWE did not give into temptation Monday night in booking Damian Priest, who defeated Shinsuke Nakamura clean to notch a nice little victory on the bank of winning MITB Saturday. Priest has been booked pretty decently overall recently, even in defeat. But winning this first match after the ladder match is a good sign that he might not be that typical winner who gets jobbed out a bunch even as a world title winner-in-waiting.

Time will tell if this holds, but we’ll take a good match with a smart outcome right out of the gate.
