4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 24)

Downs…

6. Someone Needs To Work With Liv

Liv Morgan
WWE

After a couple of months of listening to Liv Morgan’s stilted promos, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that she needs someone to pull her aside and coach her up.

Morgan was among a few women who gave short, direct-to-camera promos about the Royal Rumble Monday night. It wasn’t what she said that was important; it was how she said it. Liv’s cadence and inflexion mean she doesn't come off as an underdog babyface, or even just a normal heroine.

Instead, her delivery sounds like a heel giving a promo about how she is the best in the business and will take what she wants when she wants. Maybe Liv’s trying to avoid sounding like a bubbly babyface, which is smart, but during the past couple of months, she’s alternately sounded like someone who is giving a heel diatribe or trying to avoid crying.

This is coming from someone who wants to see her succeed and is offering it as constructive criticism – Morgan could use some help here to be more believable in her role.
