4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (July 12)
3. A “Comedic” Lead In
Can the dripstick gimmick just...f*ck off?
Preceding that 'Falls Count Anywhere' match between Ricochet and John Morrison by having JoMo and The Miz squirt water on Riddle and Rico was lame. Who stuck a hand up in WWE creative meetings and said, 'Spraying water on each other would be totes rad, you guys'?
Sure, WWE would argue that they're aiming such hijinks at a younger audience. It's not much to ask that they don't shift the show's tone from this silly nonsense to something more gritty like Bobby Lashley's rant (stay tuned) or Sheamus attacking fools backstage though; tonally, Raw is all over the place.
In the 'Ups', you'll read about just how great Ricochet vs. Morrison was. God forbid they just have Ricochet talk about how much winning MITB would mean to him, or show Miz giving John Morrison a pep talk backstage about putting the flyer in his place.
This was rubbish.
