Whenever a wrestler gets injured during a match, it becomes a difficult proposition to analyze and rate the contest. Even a match that was going really well until the unfortunate incident is hard to praise.

To be blunt, Seth Rollins versus LA Knight didn’t really have the opportunity to get into third gear before disaster struck. The outcome seemed a foregone conclusion: Rollins, with the Money in the Bank briefcase and part of the top heel stable on Raw, was a world champion-in-waiting, while Knight was the designated opponent for the evening.

Rollins was targeting Knight’s midsection, injured the previous evening on SmackDown, while the Megastar kept pouring on the offense while trying to land his killshot with the BFT. Rollins nailed a springboard senton and went for a Lionsault, but landed on his feet… and immediately clutched his knee.

For a bit, it appeared that this was a work, with Seth sitting in the corner talking to Paul Heyman and a ringside doctor while Knight stewed. But then, Rollins stood up and limped forward – right into a BFT for the pin. No subterfuge, no outside interference from the Seth Riders. Initial reports indicate this was a legit injury and Rollins had been scheduled to win the match.

Any injury to Rollins is bound to shuffle plans on Raw, the degree to which depends on how serious the injury is. Best wishes to Rollins in his recovery.
