2. Riddle’s New-Found Aggression

Riddle clearly is always going to be the stoner bro, but WWE has started infusing his character with more of an edge, and it’s working.

Monday night, Riddle joined Miz TV to save a dying segment. And after trying to speak French with Maryse, he paid tribute to Randy Orton. This set Miz off, who said that without Orton around, Riddle was going to get jumped by the Bloodline regularly.

This fired Riddle up, who told Miz to “shut the hell up” and then cut a promo on Roman Reigns, all but challenging him for the WWE Undisputed World Universal Intergalactic Championship. He then insulted Miz’s manhood, which sparked a great exchange that saw Maryse stammer her way through things, only for Riddle to suggest Miz drop trou.

This all gave way to a Miz/Riddle match that saw Riddle outsmart Miz and nail an RKO for the win. Taken together, this worked well to show Riddle can stand on his own and defend himself – at least from mid-card geeks like Miz.
