4 Ups & 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 14)

2. Lee Needs To Learn How To Work, PAL

Remember when Keith Lee debuted after SummerSlam and beat Randy Orton in his first PPV match? The former NXT Champion toppled a then-13-time world champ and seemed poised to take Raw by storm.

Less than four months later, Lee lost in a lethargic 2-on-1 handicap match to Miz & John Morrison, a duo that has collectively won exactly one singles or straight tag team match in the past eight months. This is a team that has been all talk, no show for the better part of 2020.

Meanwhile, Lee was recently sent to the Performance Center to work on his in-ring game. Say whatever you will about it – it’s a demotion, it’s refinement in preparation for a push – but having Lee come out and lose a pretty pedestrian match like this where he looked like he was moving at half-speed was really, really bad… especially to this duo.

When WWE brass have meetings to lament their sagging ratings and lack of interest in the brand, you wish someone would smack them and make them watch stuff like this as Exhibit A.
