4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 2)

7. Survivor Series Ruins Momentum

The Hurt Business

For a company that loves to have its announcers bellow that a wrestler is “building momentum,” their insistence on keeping Survivor Series as a bunch of champion-versus-champion matches is just plain dumb.

Right now, Randy Orton is being pursued by three men looking to get a shot at his WWE Championship. So who gets the next shot at the next PPV? No one. Orton has to face Roman Reigns from SmackDown.

Similarly, the Hurt Business just won a nontitle tag match against New Day, but they won’t get a title shot at Survivor Series, because New Day has to square off against the Street Profits. Over on SmackDown, Bayley & Sasha Banks are having their much-anticipated rematch for the women’s title this week rather than at the November PPV.

It’s just a major buzzkill that pushes stuff off and forces champions to face people they can’t even verbally joust with in person because they’re on separate shows.
