4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Aug 9)

Just as she did last week, Eva Marie used shenanigans to get out of her match. Last time, it was a feigned injury, and this week it was a wardrobe malfunction. Becky Lynch was having none of it, and said she wasn't leaving the ring until she got to compete. This signalled the arrival of Alexa Bliss.

WWE's portrayal of Eva Marie on the main roster is thus far bang on the money. There's a level of resentment built in from fans towards her, because Marie comes across as more of a classic Diva than a proper women's wrestler. There's little need to rush her into the ring, this situation worked out for everybody.

Lynch didn't look disgraced in defeat either, she was distracted by Eva coming back out with a new outfit to resume proceedings. That allowed Bliss to hit a spectacular top rope move (called Twisted Bliss) and pick up the win. All in all, this was a very good portion of SmackDown.
