4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Aug 9)

Last week, American Alpha defeated The Vaudevillains. In back to front fashion, they were up against some jobbers on SmackDown this time. Surely, that scenario should have been the other way around? Jason Jordan and Chad Gable have already beaten one of the teams they're competing with in the new SmackDown tag division.

Regardless of this slightly illogical feel, WWE rescued things with their eventual booking of the tag-team scene. The announcers talked about the possibility of new titles on SmackDown for duos, making the segment worthwhile. As American Alpha whipped some enhancement talent, other teams decided to get a closer look.

The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and Hype Bros all came down to watch the bout. Then, they all jumped into the ring for a quick brawl. There's nothing wrong with this kind of fare, it really puts over the competitive nature of the fledgling division.
